The Sneaky Thief

He was able to sneak past the scouts that guarded the outlying desert land.  He managed to slip past the soldiers that walked this way and that around the desert city's walls.  He snuck from shadow to shadow, and in silence he slipped past the royal guards.

He fleetly moved up gilded steps, and in complete silence, skirted across polished corridors.  He eluded the royal bodyguards, and skillfully opened the complex locks that guarded the royal treasure chambers.

The secret rooms were a wonder to behold.  Gold and silver, gems and scented woods, gilded lamps and exquisite rugs from distant lands lay all about.  The thief reached for a gem box, and accidentally brushed against an unusual glittering lamp.

In an instant, a genie appeared before him.

"What is thy wish, oh master?" the genie said.
