Scientists have known that it would take billions of years for the moon to eventually slingshot away into the darkness of the universe. Many believed that after such an event, life on earth would cease, and very few, if any species, would continue to exist. By then, it would seem, that humans would have left for other worlds in the universe.
Well, the catastrophic meteor storm that passed through the solar system caused so much damage, that the moon became one of the casualties. Historians said that within the very first hours, people were able to see the massive portions of the heavenly body break away. Reports all over the planet stated the damage that was caused.
When it was over, some said that it was a warning for people to become respectable and leave their evil ways. Others said that it was something that was eventual. Either way, it has been over a hundred and thirty seven years since the disaster, and the planet is still here; although, far different than in earlier centuries.
